Spring break...

I am a little late in getting this post out, but last week was Kendra's spring break. We didn't go anywhere so we wanted to do something a little special with the kids. We decided on the Fair Oaks Dairy Farm. This is a neat place and the kids always love the cows. Here are just a couple of pictures from there.

Sweet are God's Promises

This morning in the wee hours I couldn't sleep so I decided to take advantage of my "quiet, wake time." I came downstairs and while I was reading my Bible, God gave me this promise. It was a real encouragement to me so I thought I would share it with you:

Isaiah 43:1-3 "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned. Nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord you God, the Holy One of Israel, Your Saviour; Verse 4 says also "Since you were precious in My sight, You have been honored, And I have loved you;"

My little boy is growing up.....

Benjamin now 21 months is making so many changes and is talking a lot. He got on his sister's scooter Sunday morning and started riding it...ever so careful and slowly...but actually riding it. It was so cute. I could hardly believe it...already.

Vanilla....

Last night our associate pastor preached on Andrew who was an "ordinary" man who brought people to Jesus. He likened him to vanilla ice cream....just plain icecream....ordinary. When he announced his message being on "Ordinary Vanilla Andrew" a little friend of Abigail's who was sitting next to me looked up at me and said "I like Milky Way". I got so tickled at her. But it wasn't only her that was hungry for Ice Cream after church. :) You'll have to ask Mike about it. :)

Just thinking.....

The last couple of days I have had Philippians 4:8 on my mind. "Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue and if there be any praise; think on these things." This is one of my favorite verses because it really helps in my battles of the mind. Usually the things that bother me the most are things that I really don't KNOW to be true....things just seem true. Therefore, when I am bothered about something I try to ask myself..."Do I KNOW this is the case? Is it something lovely to think about? Is it of good report? Is it praiseworthy? I am amazed of the things I can clear out of my day just from this filter. WOW!! God knew what He was doing when He gave us this verse.
